On 19 September 2026, in commemoration of World Cleanup Day, ZINDUKA TANZANIA ORGANIZATION led a major environmental cleanliness campaign at Luchelele Ward, Mwanza City, mobilizing community members to stop indiscriminate waste disposal and instead use designated waste storage containers (skip buckets).
Speaking during the campaign, which brought together local residents, ZINDUKA TANZANIA ORGANIZATION Chief Executive Director, Sweetbert Mushi, emphasized that a clean environment is a reflection of responsible citizenship and a fundamental pillar of community health. He called for a change in public attitudes and greater commitment to proper waste management.
Mushi further emphasized that environmental cleanliness should be continuous and become a culture, starting at the household, street, ward, district, and national levels. He particularly highlighted the importance of maintaining clean surroundings during periods of heavy rainfall, when poor waste management can contribute to flooding and increase the risk of disease outbreaks.
